about

I made this using my uncle Kelly's iMac (thanks Kels!) using the mic that was built in, and garage band, and slapping the computer desk for percussion. The family dog helped out on percussion - you can hear Lucky shake in there somewhere, and you can hear her collar jingling. I would have recorded it again, but I just liked the way it sounded. Still do.

lyrics

I've joined the ranks of Dilbert and the Office
Six to three bored but making a profit
For someone I don't know and I've never met
Not yet
It's the American Dream to start up from the bottom
Kick some ass in business cas' until you got them
One big promotion and now your convictions are rotten
And forgotten
And now it's cubicle wars and nightly bars and
Just enough sleep to keep from seeing stars

Or else you climb the corporate ladder
Till you see it doesn't matter
It's hard win or easy lose and you choose the latter
And somewhere around mediocre you become the joker
More breaks if you're a smoker

It's been five long years since you've been in this prison
That's a million calls made and a billion letters written
It's too arcane for one sane mind to bare
So beware
Cause it's cubicle wars and nightly bars and
Just enough sleep to keep from seeing stars
Just enough sleep to keep from seeing stars

You got a letter to the editor about some senitor
And every time you don't get your way you want a manager
And the highlight of your life is myspace and giving other people strife
About terms and conditions and why don't nobody listen

Cubicle wars and nightly bars
Cubicle bars and nightly wars and
Nobody keeping you warm
